In October and November 2018 we upgraded this Blog to include more topic categories to make searching cases easier. These categories can be found on the far left of the home page, and are broken down into New Jersey (NJ) post categories, and Pennsylvania (PA) post categories. You can click on the category to pull up the posts tagged under that category.
In the upper left of the home page, under the calendar, is a search box, where users can enter search terms and get a set of posts with those terms.
We have included the names of the judges making the decisions summarized in our posts. Thus, you can search posted case summaries by judges’ names.
We have also included the names of the courts in the summaries’ captions.
Federal Cases are listed as:
Third Circuit (U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit);
Philadelphia Federal (U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania);
Middle District (U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania);
Western District (U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania); and
New Jeresey Federal (U. S. District Court for the District of New Jersey).
Pennsylvania state court cases are captioned as:
Pennsylvania Supreme Court (Supreme Court of Pennsylvania);
Pennsylvania Superior Court (Superior Court of Pennsylvania);
Commonwealth Court (Commonwealth Court);
Commerce Court (Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Commerce Case Management Program); and
the name of the County for individual Courts of Common Pleas cases. For example, the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas cases are listed as “Philadelphia” or “Philadelphia Common Pleas” in the caption, the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas as “Allegheny Common Pleas”, etc.
